Gold Faberge eggs go on show in TexasFriday, 13th February 2004 (4981 views) Russian jewellery designer is in Texas to exhibit some 600-miniature gold 'Faberge' eggs. The eggs are inspired by the Russian imperial jeweller Peter Carl Faberge who was commissioned to make jewel encrusted gold eggs for the Tsarina at Easter. Mr Abelsky's hand crafted miniatures will appear in a special three day, Pre-Valentine's Day exhibition. The eggs are made of sterling silver with 14K, 18K, or 24K gold overlay and multicoloured enamel. The secret, according to Mr Abelsky, is in the hand enamelling. The Faberge eggs are designed by Abelsky in his studio, and are then fabricated by his team of Russian jewellers. It typically takes two-to-three months for each design to be created. Vibrant colour, exquisite styling, and expert craftsmanship make Abelsky's Russian miniature Faberge eggs recognized throughout the world. The celebrated Russian jeweller has exhibited his creations in London, Paris, Vienna, and Berlin, as well as major cities across the US. The eggs will be on show and available for purchase in Tyler, Texas on February, 12,13, and 14.
