Stars have a golden sheen at the Brit Awards

Wednesday, 18th February 2004 (4703 views)

Stars at the Brit Awards made sure they made a lasting impression last night, as gold bedecked a number of music industry giants.

Those at the Earl's Court bash made sure it was a night to remember, as stars including Beyonce Knowles, Rachel Stevens and Gwen Stefani showed off a stunning selection of jewellery and adorned clothes.

Beyonce Knowles arrived in a dazzling gold-beaded Dolce & Gabbana gown, as well as donning more than £250,000 of precious stones.

Other pop icons showed off their own style, with Rachel Stevens boasting £40,000 of Garrard jewellery.

With No Doubt's Gwen Stefani wearing more than £150,000 worth of jewellery, the Brits proved as much of a catwalk as an awards ceremony.

The trend for bejewelled stars has been a marked one at awards ceremony recently, following extravagant displays of gold and other precious stones at both the Golden Globes and the Oscar previews.
