Gold and Jewellery Group sees sales increase

Thursday, 19th February 2004 (4605 views)

The Gold and Jewellery Group has reported a 22 per cent increase in gold and jewellery sales of Dh450 million during this year's Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF).

The Dubai-based company, which represents almost 500 retail and manufacturing partners, cited the award winning World Family Commemorative Gold Coin Promotion as the main reason for the impressive increase in sales.

Tawhid Abdullah, chairman of the group, commented: 'By offering the buying public an innovative and relevant festival product (the World Family Commemorative Gold Coin), as well as simultaneously running a far reaching, attractive, and exciting festival promotion, we managed to create the perfect product-promotion mix - which has delivered tangible results for our retailers.'

The World Family Commemorative Gold Coin is a 10-gram pure gold memento, which depicts the DSF World Family on one side and a golden landscape scene of Dubai's architectural triumphs on the other.

The World Family Commemorative Gold Coin Promotion offered prizes of one kilograms of gold distributed in the form of 100 World Family Commemorative Gold Coins each day and a grand prize of 1,000 gold coins.
