Innovative luxury phones add golden touchWednesday, 25th February 2004 (5577 views) An exclusive range of mobile phones have been developed in Dubai, offering handsets made out of a host of precious metals, including yellow and white gold.Entitled the Vertu Signature collection, the product has been developed by the Rivoli Group, a Dubai based importer and retail specialist for elite international watches and luxury brands and activities. Offering the collection of phones to markets in the UAE and Qatar, the group has signed an agreement with new UK company Vertu, according to AME Info. The collection leads the way in a new type of mobile communication, providing high performance and unique service. Features of the phone include a front-lit high-resolution display, and an improved antenna giving unparalleled sensitivity and a hi-fidelity audio system speaker. Produced in association with prestigious manufacturers from around the world, the handset has a sapphire crystal face and a choice of platinum or gold bezels. Made by hand, the phone comes in the highest quality materials, such as 18 carat yellow or white gold. Commenting on the partnership, Managing Partner of the Rivoli Group, Mr Ramesh Prabhakar, said: 'The linkage of a luxury watch and accessories portfolio with luxury mobile phones, compliments our existing product offering and the target segment we cater to. By adding Vertu to this environment, we will furthermore promote the clear definition of the high-end positioning of our stores, exposing it to an entirely new clientele.'
