New UAE fairs suggest high demand

Monday, 15th March 2004 (4587 views)

Participation in two gold and jewellery fairs in Dubai has suggested strong demand in the region.

The International Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Fair (IFJA) and the International Watch and Clock Fair (IWCF) have received confirmation from more than 70 prospective exhibitors from 17 countries worldwide.

Emad Al Hawai, managing director of International Expositions, which organises both fairs, told AME Info: "Trade in gold jewellery and precious stones has enjoyed high visibility in the UAE trade events, as well as the media.

"The keen participation of exhibitors from the major countries and regions in the fashion jewellery, fashion accessories and watches & clocks industry strengthen the IFJA & IWCF as an effective marketing vehicle for manufacturers and suppliers seeking to expand distribution and exposure in the region."

Mr Al Hawai claimed the recent market trends were "a natural result of a vibrant international population that invests in fashion trends in the UAE, whether as residents or as visitors".

The fairs are intended to help boost the jewellery, watch and clock markets and offer something different to the other fairs currently on offer in the Middle East.

Both fairs are planned for display at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre at the end of the month.
