Cookson looking to sell precious metals divisionMonday, 15th March 2004 (4487 views) Cookson Group is in talks with advisers to sell its precious metals business.The electronics and ceramics engineer is reportedly planning to sell the business since it sees it as the least vital and finds the demand for gold too temperamental. Reports suggest the company's precious metals sector could sell for as much as £100 million. A number of private equity companies have already revealed they are interested in purchasing the business. At present the company provides precious metals to high profile customers such as Tiffany. Sale decisions are set to go on into the summer.
