Gold exhibition to promote Bahrain industryMonday, 22nd March 2004 (4646 views) An annual exhibition promoting the gold industry and items made from the precious metal is set to triple in size this year.The Wonders of Gold Exhibition 2004 is used to highlight Bahrain's key position in the gold sector and will be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre. This year the expo will spread across a 1,000 sq metres away and already 95 per cent of the space has been booked by 26 exhibitors. Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commerce Ministry Assistant Under-Secretary for Foreign Trade, told Trade Arabia: "Bahrain is known for its prominent position in the gold, jewellery and pearl industry and has an ancient tradition in this sector that is highly reputed worldwide. "Bahraini goldsmiths have been able to produce excellent creations in gold jewellery." Included in the event will be specialised seminars on the Bahrain gold industry, presentations by local goldsmiths and daily raffles. The event will run from April 24-30 and is being organised by the Bahrain Convention and Exhibition Bureau and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with support from the World Gold Council.
