Faberge-inspired gold eggs showcased in US storeMonday, 22nd March 2004 (4605 views) Gold eggs are to be displayed in the US this week as part of a promotional event for a Russian jewellery maker.The collection of small gold eggs covered in enamel and lavishly decorated are said to be inspired by Faberge. On show in Gold Casters Fine Jewelry, Ilya Abelsky will be showcasing his products as part of his latest promotion and aims his items at average households. "It's not a big-ticket item, but it's a unique product, a unique object. I want to be for ordinary people. Faberge made for royalty, now I will make for queen of your household," Mr Abelsky told Indystar. The eggs price at $59.95 and are available in both gold and silver. Approximately a million eggs are sold each year by the company and different events and holidays prompt new innovative designs. Around 800 jewellery stores in the US stock the Abelsky eggs.
