High demand for Indian jewellery in USWednesday, 24th March 2004 (4460 views) Recent export figures to the US have reflected the growing demand for gold jewellery from India.Jewellery made up the key share of India exports for the period of April-November 2003, according to Business Standard. Data from the commerce ministry on trade showed gem and jewellery exports increased by 35.59 per cent to $2551.19 million. Total exports in gems and jewellery for India increased by 26 per cent in January 2003 to $10,646 million. With demand growing for such items, India's industry now predicts exports will reach $16 billion in three years time.
