Connecticut store for jewellery firm Georg JensonWednesday, 24th March 2004 (6217 views) International jewellery company Georg Jensen has announced plans to open a store on Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich, Connecticut.The company, which has a flagship store on New York's Madison Avenue, was founded by Danish silversmith Jensen, but now sells a wide assortment of gold jewellery, precious stone jewellery, watches and gift articles for the home and office. Georg Jensen plans to refurbish its flagship store on Madison Avenue this spring and open two new stores in Soho and Greenwich, Connecticut. The new retail spaces will focus mainly on silver and gold jewellery and watches, but will also carry flatware and gift items. The Greenwich store is part of a major expansion and relaunching of the brand, said Amy Chukerman, Georg Jensen's vice president of retail operations. The 1,200-square-foot space on Greenwich Avenue is a near a cluster of other high-end, well-known stores such as Tiffany, Baccarat and Saks Fifth Avenue, Greenwich Time reports. Georg Jensen currently has four stores in the United States and 100 stores around the world. The company recently completed a widespread expansion effort in Australia, opening close to 50 stores in that country.
