Wednesday, 21st April 2004 (6053 views) An 18 carat gold £33,000 Tiffany ring has been sold by actress Kim Basinger to raise money for an animal welfare charity.<BR/><BR/>The gold band, topped with a 3.7-carat diamond was for her engagement to ex-husband Alec Baldwin and is predicted to sell for between $30,000 and $40,000 at the Beverley Hills jeweller that bought it.<BR/><BR/>Yossi Dina of South Beverly Wilshire jewellery & Loan told Reuters: "I got it for a fan. They'll pay crazy money for that."<BR/><BR/>Commenting on her sale, Ms Basinger told the New York Daily News: "It's a good cause. And how many women do you know who wear their ex-husband's jewellery after they've divorced?"<BR/><BR/>An eternity ring, necklace and diamond bracelet were also put up for auction for The Performing Animal Welfare Society.
