Indian villager discovers golden barsThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Wednesday, 26th May 2004 (4590 views) An Indian man known by residents as something of a fortune teller has found 10 bars of gold after digging under his kitchen.

Each golden bar has the picture of former president Sukarno on it and now Bogor police have seized one of the bars to value it.

According to Mr Saepudin, he heard a voice in his dream to dig the hole and could hear the voice as he dug deeper with neighbours.

"When the hole was three meters deep, we found two bars of gold -- and more until we reached four-and-a-half meters. The voice told me to use most of the gold to help the poor so that I would go to heaven ... the rest I could use for my own interests," Mr Saepudin told The Jakarta Post.

The bars also feature the Indonesian symbol for prosperity and are imprinted with '999.9 London 1 kg' and '24 carat gold'.

Reportedly the man also claims to have found jewellery back in March on his father's property.
