Police try to track down £18 million stolen jewelleryWednesday, 14th July 2004 (4310 views) Police are on the hunt after a £17 million gold necklace covered in 116 diamonds was stolen from Japan.Armed police have now raided a home in Aberdeen in connection with the robbery, which also saw several other pieces of jewellery stolen, according to BBC News Online. The joint operation between Interpol and Grampian police officers has not resulted in anyone being charged. Items were originally stolen from the Le Supre-Diamant Couture de Maki boutique in Tokyo. Reportedly the inquiry which is being led by Tokyo police is still ongoing.
