Russian gold production risesWednesday, 21st July 2004 (3276 views) Russia has increased gold production by more than 3.5 tonnes in the first half of this year.Data released by Interfax shows that ore, associated and secondary production enjoyed a 6.4 per cent year-on-year increase in the first half of this year. Total production rose to 61.822 tonnes, with the union of gold industrialists identifying marked growth in secondary production. Secondary production increased 140 per cent to 5.561 tonnes of gold over the half., while associated production was also up, by 18 per cent. Direct gold extraction fell slightly to 50.714 tonnes, down 0.7 per cent.
