Well-dressed race goers in Dubai are to be rewarded with pure gold at this month's Dubai International Arabian Horse Race.

Nakheel, developers of residential, leisure and tourism projects will present the lady with the best outfit with a pure gold bar, whilst a second bar will go to the woman with the best hat.

The kilo of gold awards will be based on innovation, creativity and elegance.

Wahid Attalla, Executive Director of Commercial Operations for Nakheel told AME Info: "Dubai places great value on the sport of kings and we believe our prizes should reflect this.

"We wanted to highlight this to the race fans at Newbury while at the same time conveying the sense of luxury that is synonymous with Nakheel's vision in Dubai."

The group also plans to hide a kilo of gold each day within the 'Dive Experience' scuba diving park at its opening of The Palm.
