Pure Gold Jewellers has revealed that during the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) event its net sales increased by a huge 68 per cent.

Gold jewellery in particular saw a 78 per cent increase in net sales, thought to be helped by a strategic promotional program launched by the government of Dubai.

Chairman Firoz Merchant commended the efforts of DSS in encouraging people to spend the summer in the area and purchase goods.

"We are pleased and especially encouraged by our summer sales growth, which is strengthening as the quarter progresses. We believe these results again confirm the lasting appeal of Pure Gold's products," Mr Merchant told AME Info.

The firm now hopes to continue its positive results with the opening of five new stores in the region during the second half of this year, and more planned for early 2005.
