NovaGold discovers new high-grade gold zones

Tuesday, 28th September 2004 (3331 views)

Canadian mining firm NovaGold has released further details on its Galore Creek project, with drilling detecting some exceptional results.

The first set of drilling on the two new target areas at the site has shown top grade gold mineralisation near the surface

Rick Van Nieuwenhuyse, president and CEO, commented: "These are the highest grades ever encountered on the Galore Creek project.

"The mineralisation is similar to the famous high grade Main Stage "A" veins mined at the historic Butte district in Montana, and has the potential to substantially enhance the project economics."

The Galore Creek project is situated in Northwestern British Columbia and at present exploration and development work is occurring at the site, with a pre-feasibility study expected by mid 2005.
