Patriotic gold jewellery presented to former POWTuesday, 28th September 2004 (4926 views) Jewellery designer Eddie LeVian has reportedly presented a range of red, white and blue gold jewellery to former POW Jessica Lynch.The presentation at the 28th Annual Mrs America pageant took place on September 14th in Palm Springs, California, according to National Jeweler. Mr LeVian, CEO of Le Vian Corp, designed a necklace with the initials USA, an art deco-style American flag pin, hoop earrings, necklace and a ring, all in white gold, with rubies, sapphires and diamonds. The designer said he had been inspired to create the jewellery ensemble following the 09/11 attacks on the United States and news reports of Private Lynch's bravery. The set, created by the official jewellery designer for the Mrs America and Mrs World pageants, is worth an estimated $15,000. Ms Lynch, 21, appeared on stage at the poolside of the Riviera Hotel and Resort in Palm Springs with the aid of a cane and a brace to accept the gifts and also received a quilt woven by the 50 pageant contestants The former US Army private, from Palestine, Western Virginia, was captured by Iraqi soldiers and later rescued by American troops in March 2003.
