Wednesday, 29th September 2004 (6212 views) A new exhibition is New Zealand is offering something a little different as its creator designs wall jewellery.<BR/><BR/>The designs are described as "uniquely intricate" and are made from gold and silver on ceramic tiles, built up in layers to create mosaic-like images.<BR/><BR/>Work by Katherine Strevens has now gone on display in her first commercial exhibition La Natura, according to the New Zealand Herald.<BR/><BR/>The exhibition is said to celebrate the renewal of life and includes 18 pieces - made up of still lifes of fish, insects, fruit and vegetables.<BR/><BR/>Ms Strevens describes her work as "jewellery for the walls" and adds in different colours along with gold to make designs more interesting.<BR/><BR/>Although she is planning to make some changes for her next exhibition, Ms Strevens claims she will still continue to use gold and silver as it adds a good effect to her pieces which can take up to three weeks to complete.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3492751"/>
