Lightweight look for Indian jewellery

Friday, 15th October 2004 (4632 views)

Indian consumers are wanting to try different styles of gold jewellery in the run up to the four day Puja festival.

According to The Telegraph India, people are moving away from chunky neckpieces and dangly items and are opting for lightweight jewellery.

It is thought the main reason for a lightweight look is the expected heavy rain, busy crowds and humidity predicted for the period.

One company which is responding to this change in trend is PC Chandra, which has launched the Goldlites range, made up of lightweight gold jewellery.

The collection is popular amongst younger members of India too, with prices suited to everyone including college students and young professionals.

Pieces are made from 22 carat gold and prices begin at Rs 20,000, with items including lockets, necklaces, pendant sets, earrings and chains.
