American gold association promotes prospecting sectorMonday, 18th October 2004 (2907 views) The Gold Prospectors Association of America (GPAA) in Tomah has been showcasing the gold prospecting sector in its Gold and Treasure Show.Tomah GPAA was set up by gold prospector Mike Flint around two years ago in a bid to get others interested in the hobby and the association. This weekend saw the chapter come to the OmniCenter in Onalaska in Wisconsin, catering for all levels of prospectors. Show coordinator Nancy DeFalco told the La Crosse Tribune: "We have everything here to do with gold prospecting - metal detectors, spiral pans, dredges and rocker boxes. "There are lectures and jewellers, anything you can think of to do with gold prospecting." In addition, visitors could meet Tom Massie from 'Gold Fever' and Perry Massie from 'Prospecting America'.
