Nokia is taking advantage of Indian consumers' love of luxury goods, by launching its super premium handsets there.<BR/><BR/>The Vertu range includes mobile phones with casing that comes in 18 carat white or yellow gold.<BR/><BR/>Vice president at Vertu, Giles Rees told The Hindu Business Line: "Indians welcome luxury products, and this country has a long-standing tradition of appreciating and using such products. <BR/><BR/>"Before deciding to come here, we conducted a comprehensive survey on how luxury brands from companies such as the Richmond group and LVMH fared in India, and the results were very encouraging."<BR/><BR/>Each Vertu handset is handmade by experts and is "all about owning a luxury name".<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3672390"/>
