Friday, 26th November 2004 (6148 views) Customs officials in Bulgaria have managed to stop the smuggling of 20 kg of jewellery.<BR/><BR/>According to the Sofia News Agency, police stopped smuggling at the Danube Bridge customs checkpoint on the border of Bulgaria and Romania.<BR/><BR/>A total of 52 packets were discovered when checking a Turkish bus heading for Romania.<BR/><BR/>The searches revealed bags full of jewellery, including 14kg of gold jewellery.<BR/><BR/>Since the beginning of 2004, the customs officials at the Danube Bridge point have managed to confiscate 84kg of gold.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=7168110"/>
