OceanaGold appoints new operating officer

OceanaGold has announced it has appointed a new chief operating officer, helping it to boost its position in the gold sector.

Albert Brantley is an experienced senior executive and previously worked for CMS Energy, Amax Gold and L&M Mining.

OceanaGold's chief executive officer, Stephen Orr, said: "Albert brings extensive resource project development and management experience to OceanaGold as we embark on the development of three additional mines in New Zealand.

"His prior gold industry and international experience will make a significant contribution to our efforts to transform OceanaGold into a global gold company."

Mr Brantley has also worked on mining projects in Australia for Griffin Holdings.
