Samira Hill has produced more than 9,000 ounces of gold in the second month of commissioning, Semafo and Etruscan Resources announced this week.<br/><br/>The mine has now produced a total of more than 18,000 ounces of gold since it started operating on September 25th this year.<br/><br/>Semafo is a mining company, which aims to explore and develop gold and base metal deposits in West Africa.<br/><br/>At present the company, which works under the Nigerian firm Societe des Mines du Liptako, operates a total of two gold mines.<br/><br/>During commissioning the plant achieved 90 per cent of the targeted throughput and used less consumables then was suggested in the feasability study.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=7344815"/>
