The exclusive Place Vendome in Paris is luring Christmas shoppers into top luxury stores to purchase the latest designs in the jewellery sector.

According to Reuters, the area houses the biggest concentration of luxury jewellers in the world and has launched a number of top designs such as diamond encrusted panthers and pink-gold watches.

Among the items of interest for consumers are pieces worn by top stars for events such as the Oscars, with some US shoppers looking to purchase the spun gold and diamond necklace identical to the one worn by Nicole Kidman.

Item prices can reach huge levels, with the Nicole Kidman piece priced at €27,000.

However, jewellers claimed that dollar weaknesses have had a direct impact on some of the prestigious stores.
