Wheaton reports increased productionFriday, 21st January 2005 (3021 views) Wheaton River Minerals recorded a 34 per cent increase in gold production in 2004.Last year, Wheaton's production totalled 621,000 gold equivalent ounces. This figure included 513,000 ounces of gold and 6.7 million ounces of silver. This was up on 2003's figure of 464,000 gold equivalent ounces. Production is projected to increase to 675,000 ounces in 2005 and to 955,000 ounces in 2006. Ian Telfer, CEO of Wheaton, said, "I am extremely proud of our strong operating team, who continue to demonstrate that their experience and dedication are maximizing shareholder returns. We exceeded production targets at each operation and reduced operating costs to record lows".
