Friday, 21st January 2005 (5179 views)

Indian fashion guru Ritu Beri has launched a new jewellery line featuring necklaces, pendants, earrings and finger rings.

Designed in association with the D'damas gems brand, the line will be called Amour and all pieces will be engraved with the initials of Beri.

Ritu Beri told the IANS news service she decided to enter the jewellery market due to the popularity of gold in India.

"India's love affair with gold is enduring, spanning centuries and millennia," she stated.

"This is why I choose to enter the jewellery design arena with an ethno-contemporary gold collection."

Ms Beri added: "This collection symbolises the unique qualities of the precious metal. The eternal, but malleable nature of gold reflects the power and the beauty of the various possibilities in jewellery."
