Wednesday, 23rd February 2005 (3952 views) Cars are revving up for a gold rush across Russia as contestants in the Expedition Trophy chase a 10kg lump of gold.<br/> <br/>A total of 72 cars have taken part in the event, which begins in Murmansk for a challenging winter rally.<br/> <br/>The race typically lasts for two weeks, with racers covering 12,000 km en route to the city of Vladivostok.<br/> <br/>Cars will race in teams of two in the gruelling seven-stage marathon, with the cars whittled down to just seven teams before the end. <br/> <br/>Teams from all over the world, including Russia, Germany and the US, will take part in the pursuit of the pot of gold.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=7868905"/>
