The Technion-Israel Institute of Technology has created a new version of a biomolecular computer, made completely of enzymes and DNA molecules.

According to Israel21c, the computer is fastest than anything else like it and can perform as many as a billion different programmes at the same time.

In addition, a gold-coated chip is used which allows simple, real-time readout of the results.

At present current biomolecular computers can only be analysed through elaborate techniques where molecules have to be separated and sorted by size.

In the past, similar computers could only run 765 programmes simultaneously.

With this new generation of computers, biological molecules replace all the typical components used in typical computers.
