Friday, 22nd April 2005 (4265 views) Experts have predicted that gold production in Russia is to increase this year.<br/><br/>According to latest forecasts, Russian gold production will rise from 180.5 tonnes in 2004 to 183 tonnes.<br/><br/>The Gold Manufacturers Union revealed that the Krasnoyarsk region is still the leader in gold mining in Russia, Neftegaz reports.<br/><br/>The are produced 5760.2 kg of gold during January to March this year, an increase of 452.1 kg.<br/><br/>However, first quarter gold production results overall were down compared to last year, reducing by 10.65 per cent.<br/><br/>Experts are confident that the decline is only temporary though and are still forecasting positive production for the year as a whole.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=8333205"/>
