Monday, 25th April 2005 (4567 views) Dragon Gold has announced it has started its field exploration activities in Mongolia Mine Info.<br/><br/>The well known Mongolian firm will initiate a short programme this month to extend studies of two targeted exploration areas - Baruun Khavtsal and Olon Aarag.<br/><br/>Both sites cover a total of around 20,056 hectares and are situated in areas believed to have potential world-class deposits.<br/><br/>Albert Cui, Dragon Gold's director of exploration, said: "The field program is an extension of our reconnaissance desk study. With the previously identified mineralisation on the properties, we believe that the field program will return interesting results. <br/><br/>"The results could allow us to confirm and/or identify grounds with significant mineralisation, alteration, and ore mineral occurrences for detailed geological survey and scope of future works within the license area."<br/><br/>Baruun Khavtsal is located in the Ozernaya terrane in northwest Mongolia, which is known to hold good copper and gold deposit potential. Initial work will include geological routing and rock sampling.<br/><br/>In addition, Olon Aarag is located within the south Mongolian terrane on the South Gobi porphyry copper-gold belt, an area known to house deposits of gold and in the same zone as Ivanhoe's Narrin Hugad.<br/><br/>Dragon Gold is a gold exploration company headquartered in London and focuses on exploration and minerals development in China and Mongolia.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=8355607"/>
