Nazi gold ring up for auctionMonday, 23rd May 2005 (4792 views) A gold ring once owned by Nazi war criminal, Hermann Goering, has been put up for auction in New Zealand. However the sale was delayed, despite strong interest, since parties have been struggling to ascertain its value, according to NZPA. The gold signet ring is covered in Nazi regalia and comes with a certificate of authenticity. It is thought the ring was made by jeweller, Professor Herbert Zeitner, in 1942. The ring was then confiscated by the US Army when Hermann Goering was surrendered in Austria in 1945. He was a leading Nazi that founded the Gestapo and set up the first concentration camps.
