Monday, 27th June 2005 (6276 views) Pampering for pets has reached a new level, with jewellery for dogs becoming increasingly popular in America.<br/><br/>One Pittsburgh jeweller is following the latest trend of pampering pets and has launched a new line of jewellery made especially for dogs.<br/><br/>According to the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, Bark Avenue Jewelers will offer custom pendants, collars and tag holders made from various precious metals including gold.<br/><br/>Paul Bierker, who is developing the company with his wife and is already vice president at Ingenious Design jewellers, said: "Dogs aren't just household companions. They're children in a lot of homes."<br/><br/>A number of pet-friendly pieces have already been designed by the firm, with Oprah Winfrey and her dog Sophie already popular clients.<br/><br/>Decorations for dogs are becoming increasingly popular in America, with other companies such as 14K-9 in Colorado, offering dog bracelets, earrings and rings.<br/><br/>Jan Berger, who runs the company with her husband, explained: "We even made a $2,800 solid-gold collar for a bulldog. It was over 2 feet long."<br/><br/>Celebrities are not only fans of the jewellery but are also moving into the pet jewellery market themselves, with Jennifer Lopez and Paris Hilton both launching collections.<br/><br/>Pet jewellery is typically offered online or advertised to animal lovers in pet dedicated magazines.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=16031361"/>
