Cartier has opened its first outlet in Qatar in a ceremony held at the Royal Plaza in al-Sadd, reports the Gulf Times.

Dignitaries were treated to a tour of the world famous jewellers' new premises followed by a cocktail reception and dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Over 300 VIPs and celebrities attended the evening, which was based around the theme Red and Gold, the Magic of the Cartier Box, A Symbol of Desire Mystery and Dreams.

Parisian jewellery was displayed on models and other items, such as the necklace and bracelet Anouchka from Cartier's High Jewellery Collection, were on display throughout the evening.

Cartier sells many finely rendered gold items including the Trinity charm, made of three interlocking loops of different coloured gold, and the draperie de décolleté consisting of six rows of 18-carat gold chains.
