The Tan Range Exploration Corporation has announced that it has discovered large quantities of gold in a project in Tanzania.

The discovery occurred nearly 15 kilometres from the Tulawaka Gold Mine. It was tested by four drill fences that dug a total of 23 holes.

Total depth reached 1.47 kilometres, and the holes were dug at a 60 degree angle.

Chairman and chief executive officer of Tan Range, James Sinclair, believes the discovery validates the region's potential.

He said: "Our strategy is to secure royalty agreements with skilled and innovative explorers who have the technical wherewithal to develop the full potential of our holdings."

A follow up drilling program is being started to further examine the area for the potential of more gold resources.
