Diagold line focuses on gold-cased diamondsWednesday, 26th October 2005 (4172 views) A new festive line of ornaments currently being showcased by jewellery house Diagold to coincide with Diwali focuses on diamonds set in gold, the hot accessory this season. The collection, designed by Varda Goenka, is on show at Diagold's premises on Lee Road in Calcutta, the Calcutta Telegraph reports. It sees the designer moving back to more traditional pieces, with the quintessential jewellery piece, the diamond, forming the centre of attraction. "For this Diwali, I have consciously focused on diamond jewellery keeping in mind that people these days spend a lot during Dhanteras," explained Mr Goenka. "Apart from heavy diamond kundan and jadau sets, there is an array of lighter ornaments that makes for great gift options during the festival." These gift options include diamonds and other precious stones studded onto gold and white gold necklaces and earrings. Diamonds and white gold have been tipped as the hot new thing this season, as people look to traditional pieces in the run up to the Diwali festival.
