JIC revamps websiteTuesday, 22nd November 2005 (3894 views) The Jewelry Information Center (JIC) has revamped its website in a bid to drum up extra interest in the US jewellery and watch market, the National Jeweler reports.The non-profit trade organisation's new site features a more stylish design, easier navigation and a variety of content updates. A 'find a reputable retailer' tool hooks customers up with their nearest fine jewellery or watch store, while the website also offers advice on the latest trends and gives a wide range of buying advice. Those wanting a little extra can sign up as members in order to access an exclusive section containing information on industry trends and other news. The JIC's web refurbishment comes as third quarter results from Signet, the world's largest speciality jeweller, indicate the US market is in good shape in the run up to Christmas. The UK-based retailer which draws 70 per cent of its sales from the US saw sales for the thirteen weeks to October 29th vault six per cent year-on-year to £310.5 million. The jewellery giant pointed to a solid performance in the US, where it received a boost from high demand for fashion gold merchandise and its loose diamond and large solitaire rings.
