Jewellery company Bulgari has announced a third-quarter gross turnover of €218.1 million, representing a 8.1 per cent rise on last year's figures.

During this period its jewellery sector achieved sales growth of 7.3 per cent compared to the third-quarter of 2004, although the company's overall net profit was down.

"The sales performance of the third quarter presented today confirmed the positive trend in the segment of jewellery and perfumes already registered in the past six months," Bulgari's chief executive officer, Francesco Trapani, told IDEX.

Although its primary business is jewellery, the company also sells perfume and watches.

Some of its pieces include B.zero1 rings in white and yellow gold, with or without pave diamonds and engraved with Bulgari, and a white gold necklace with three pave diamond and three black onyx disks.

Mr Traponi is hoping that strong Christmas sales will help to bolster the company's turnover by more than ten per cent.
