The prestigious event organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) opens its doors for five days on December 5th and will pull in 460 exhibitors. The number of outfits travelling to the event from outside the United Arab Emirates is up 16 per cent on last year, with jewellers from Belgium, Italy, Germany, Hong Kong and Lebanon all in attendance. 'The increase in international participation underlines the growing international appeal of the show among the trade worldwide,' commented DWTC's director general Helal Saeed Khalfan Al Marri. 'It emphasises the role of Watch & Jewellery Dubai as the perfect launch-pad for international companies to expand their market operations within the region.' The show also claims to offer a number of unique features for gold and jewellery fans. Designer Piazza, for instance, features 12 top-notch jewellery collections from around the world. The World Gold Council is organising Gold Expressions, which seeks to showcase the manufacturing prowess of the local Dubai market.
