An exhibition on Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs is coming to the Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale, Florida from December 15th 2005 to April 23rd 2006.

Since its discovery in 1922, the tomb of Tutankhamun has captured the imagination of gold lovers and historians alike.

Some of the gold highlights from the boy king's tomb will include the gold crown found on his head and one of the canopic coffinettes inlaid with gold and precious stones that carried his mummified organs.

A wealth of other treasurers from other royal tombs, traceable back to around the 14th century BC, will also be on display.

Recent scans of the body that for the first time have been used to build up a three-dimensional image of the body will be on show, as experts reveal the king behind the gold.

However, not all the mysteries of Tutankhamun can be solved - some Egyptologists believe that he was murdered by his successor Ay.

The touring exhibition has visited Los Angeles and is set to go to Chicago, Philadelphia and London.
