Car-jack man gifted with white-gold ringFriday, 16th December 2005 (4170 views) A man in Northborough, Massachusetts, returned to his car last week to find that it had been broken into and a $15,000 white-gold diamond ring had been left inside. The man had parked his car at the MBTA bus station and forgot to lock the door. When he returned he found a box on the passenger seat sealed with a white bow and complete with a gift card. According to CBS worldwide the note read: "Merry Christmas. Thank you for leaving your car door unlocked. Instead of stealing your car I gave you a present. Hopefully this will land in the hands of someone you love, for my love is gone now. Merry Christmas to you." The baffled gentleman, who declined to be identified, opened the box to find a white-gold ring mounted with three diamonds. After having the ring valued the man notified police whose only conclusion was that this was a festive act of kindness. The man has told reporters that he plans to keep the ring.
