Indian jewellery ace Motisons has become the latest outfit to announce plans to launch in Dubai, the Business Standard reports.

Based in Jaipur, the eight-year-old firm specialises in weaving pearl on gold and high-class diamond jewellery and has a reputation for drawing in punters from across India.

But Motisons has its sights set beyond its local market, with Dubai an obvious target due to its rich appetite for gold jewellery.

"Having carved a niche in local markets, we are now looking forward to expanding in the overseas market," confirms Motisons' Sanjay Chabra.

"For this, we have decided to open a retail outlet in Dubai."

Motisons' gold and pearl jewellery starts at around Rs 1,500, while many of its diamond jewellery items are priced at over Rs 40 lakh.

Dubai's riches will be on display to the whole world when the desert city's renowned shopping festival kicks off in less than a week.

The month-long festival – billed as one of the world's biggest – is set to give-away 143 kilos of gold to lucky punters.
