Jewellery designers get ready for OscarsFriday, 17th February 2006 (4234 views) Jewellery designers are preparing for the 78th Academy Awards, as they bid to win the custom of stars looking to sparkle on the big night.Kwiat for one will be hosting an Oscar suite in conjunction with Kodak from February 27th to March 2nd, showcasing its latest red-carpet designs to stars and stylists, the National Jeweller reports. Of particular note is its Inspired by range, which features highly unique diamond designs that are apparently inspired by female stars up for this year's Best Actress award. Oscar nominees who attend will also receive a free gift bag, including a Kodak camera adorned with their initials in Kwiat diamonds. Also getting ready for Oscar night is designer Erica Courtney, who this week at a party in Los Angeles displayed her latest range of jewellery especially for the big occasion, which featured both platinum and Tahitian pearls. Ms Courtney has in addition collaborated with Ali Rahimi of Mon Atelier on a gown festooned with more than a hundred baroque Tahitian pearls and with platinum ornamentation. The garment is valued at over $50,000.
