Supercross legend presented with gold bikeThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Friday, 24th March 2006 (3934 views) Before James Stewart racked up his sixth supercross victory in succession, he was presented with a newly customised Kawasaki ZX 636 plated in 24-carat gold. The motorbike was customised by Two Brothers Racing and presented shortly before the Anaheim One supercross event to the eventual winner of the race. Two Brothers Racing primarily provide exhausts for street bikes, but decided to go one step further when Mr "Bubba" Stewart requested a new pipe for his Kawasaki. Joel Albrecht of Two Brothers explained that his thinking had been: "Let's do something cool with this bike because that's really what we like to do." In order to plate the metallic sections of the bike in gold, the team needed to strip the bike down to its frame, before ordering customised road-race body work and anodising the suspension. The paint job took two months to complete, though Two Brothers needed to put the bike back together in just two days in order to present it to James Stewart in time for the race. The bike will be on display at this year's Indy Trade Show.
