Sotheby's New York will hold an important jewel auction on April 25th.

The Magnificent Jewels Auction will feature the Rojtman Diamond, a 107.46-carat stone with an estimated value of $1.5 to $2 million, as well as a 39.14-carat diamond set in gold, diamonds.net reports.

The latter is a cushion-shaped fancy intense yellow diamond with an 18-carat gold mounting and is worth an estimated $1 to $1.5 million.

Also going under the hammer in Manhattan will be the pear-shaped Golden Maharaja diamond, which is dark orange-brown in colour and weighs an impressive 65.57 carats. Its estimated price is $400,000 to $600,000.

The jewellery collection, which also features pieces by Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Harry Winston, will be open to the public for viewing from April 19th to April 24th.

Meanwhile, a gold necklace with a 40-carat rectangular diamond went under the hammer in Singapore this weekend, but failed to sell.

It was expected that the emerald cut diamond, which is set in an 18-carat gold necklace and laced with smaller diamonds, would fetch up to $370,000.
