Aurora announces drilling programmeTuesday, 25th April 2006 (3085 views) Gold mining corporation, Aurora, which focuses on mining opportunities in South America, has confirmed it will commence a comprehensive drilling programme at the Tapajos Gold province in Brazil. The Para area's site can be found on the company's Sao Domingos property, and the drill holes are intended to test the depth and strike continuity of the Atacadao system of mineralised gold. Preliminary exploration promised good returns and yields in the area, with grading reaching a high of 42.56 grammes per tonne of gold, believed to extend over five kilometres. The property is located approximately 250 kilometres south of Itaituba and 40 kilometres north of another Aurora-owned gold prospect at Santa Izabel. The company has outlined four prime targets for gold extraction as part of the Sao Domingos project, in Atacadao, Esmeril Fofoca and Cachoeira, and has uncovered silver deposits in the same areas. Aurora has been mining for 40 years and has produced approximately 600 metric tonnes of gold in that time.
