Gevril Watches have scored something of a coup by having Oscar winner Denzel Washington wear one of their gold timepieces in the movie "The Inside Man".

The movie, directed by Spike Lee, also features Dirty Pretty Things actor Chiwetel Ejiofor wearing a Gevril watch. Washington and Ejiofor play New York Police Department hostage negotiators.

The model worn by Denzel Washington is a limited edition, 18-carat gold automatic Chelsea #2315, which has a sale price of $8,495. It has a 25 jewel movement and a full calendar. Ejiofor wears a limited edition Madison #2502L, which retails for almost $2,500.

The history of Gevril Watches began with Jacques Gevril in the mid-1700s and the company boasts that "more than 250 years of fine Swiss watch-making expertise can be found within the foundation of every Gevril timepiece".

Other celebrity fans that have been seen sporting Gevril watches include Geena Davis, in her drama entitled "Commander in Chief"; and English rocker Sting.
