Wall Street alerts people to AngloGoldThursday, 22nd June 2006 (4846 views) AngloGold Ashanti was among the Wall Street News Alert's "stocks to watch" this morning (June 22nd).The company, which is committed to developing gold resources in an environmentally and socially responsible way, was up by 2.5 per cent on 1.7 million shares traded. Other ones to watch were Tao Minerals, which could be the target of aggressive investors, and Newfield Exploration. AngloGold operates on four continents and has been exploring in Colombia since 1999. Earlier this month the company signed an agreement with Bema Gold Corporation to form a new company to explore various opportunities in the north of the country. Meanwhile, the head of parent company Anglo American is chairing the United Nations Global Compact, which aims to tackle global problems. Sir Mark Moody-Stuart aims to "steer the compact forward" and help it achieve its aim of protecting human rights, promoting environmental sustainability and abolishing child labour.
