Drilling results released by Freewest

Thursday, 22nd June 2006 (2410 views)

Freewest Resources has released the latest findings from its drilling programme in north-west Quebec.

The results are for the ongoing investigation at the Barry United property, currently being worked on as part of a joint venture between Freewest and Murgor Resources.

Exploration has been carried out on the site in order to eventually establish a gold resource. A total of 21 holes were drilled at zones 43 and 45 as well as in the main zone extension.

The main zone is wholly controlled by Murgor and has revealed suggested resources of 35,500 ounces of gold.

In addition, the partnership tested a geophysical anomaly that recorded, among other characteristics, magnetic susceptibility and confirmed expectations when it yielded 11.26 g/t gold in tests.

President and chief executive of Freewest Mackenzie I Watson said: "We look forward to continued drilling of the Zone 43 and Zone 45 as well as the Main Zone SW Extension.

"We anticipate that all of these zones will continue to generate encouragement throughout the summer field season."
